It isn’t so much how much you say something, but how you say it.

This is a site about a journey. A hopeful journey that doesn’t have an end- a pretentious journey with about a thousand odd grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. A boring story about a college dropout who started in a cubical at about 2:30 AM, thinking to himself “Surely I can do this job from a damn beach somewheres.”

It’s me, I’m the schmuck. I got into this business like so many other young pricks do- to make money. But also as a sort of self experiment. Can I make it work? Can I justify my 30 buck a year WordPress fee? Can I make it out to Tahiti, with mangos and surfing, and what will eventually be washboard abs? Who knows?

There’s another question at the heart of this – Can I make an ad that I can stand?

Most advertising is schlock. Most of it is content to shout its way into your life like sort of two dimensional barker at a bazaar. Rather than just shouting at you from behind their stalls, they’re now shoving the flyers directly into your face in the form of popups, or blowing out your eardrums with whatever strange, tone-deaf telenovela they’ve overpaid for with spotify ads.

I really want to avoid that. I want to avoid making the ad that’ll make some poor guy pick up a copy of “Das Kapital” and run for the nearest Che Guevara shirt. Advertisement doesn’t need to be this technicolor, plastic hellscape. It can be honest, it can be beautiful, it can be art.

“So what can you write?”

All chips on the table – nothing, yet. I have no experience. I’ve barely sold more than a few knick knacks at a thrift store ran by a nuclear doomsday believer. I’m still figuring out wordpress, fiverr, and a myriad of other things. What’s a W-2? Hell if I know, but I’ve only got a few decades or two to find out.
